Eating well is not easy and the food reflects on our aesthetic appearance and our psychological and physical well-being.
We gives five tips for women’s health, taking into account age and life stage.
1- Maintain Adequate Weight: From the age of 40, a woman’s metabolism slows down and calorie needs decrease by an average of 2% a year. For women aged 23-50 years, an average intake of 2,000-2,200 calories is recommended, while for those over the age of 50, the average daily intake drops to 1,600-1,800 calories. At that age, an excess of 200 calories per day can result in an increase of 10kg of weight per year. Therefore, eat a balanced, fractional diet (do not fast) and practice regular physical activity.
Eliminate Cellulite: Decrease salt intake that causes retention of fluids and edema, and fatty foods and fried foods. Reduce the consumption of alcohol, caffeinated beverages and soft drinks that reduce the caliber of arteries, making circulation difficult; increase fiber, water, and tea consumption.
3- Eat Soy: Soy is food of excellent nutritional value, and among foods of vegetable origin, it is the one with the best protein content and the quality of its protein is compared to the protein of the meat. Studies show that with the consumption of soybeans, it is possible to reduce the risk or prevent diseases such as cardiovascular, osteoporosis, certain cancers like breast, in addition to softening the symptoms of menopause, especially heat waves.
4. Replace Collagen: There are currently several foods enriched with this protein that provides support to the cells, holding them together. Its deficiency is noticed when we enter the stage of maturity, at age 50, the body only produces on average 35% of the necessary collagen, with the diminution of the elasticity of the skin, the appearance of wrinkles and the increase of the fragility joint and bone. Studies show that the daily use of hydrolyzed collagen extracted industrially from the bones, skins and tendons of animals has no contraindication, does not fatten and stimulates the production of the natural collagen, which we lose with the passage of time. Consume at least 8g / day of collagen hydrolyzate powder.
5. Drink Teas derived from Camellia sinensis: Green, white, yellow and red tea are rich in polyphenols, substances with strong antioxidant action. Studies show that these substances are able to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and certain cancers, such as breast cancer, for example. In addition, research is showing that regular consumption of these teas increases energy expenditure and fat oxidation, helping in the process of weight loss.
